Second Session July 2 – July 13
Third Session July 16 – July 27

Summer Program Activities
All sessions are devoted to a particular theme, which reflects in all camp activities,
and finds its full expression in the final music performance in the end of the second week
of each session. Students are encouraged to sign up for a full session of two weeks.

Russian Workshop
Your children will learn to express themselves better in both conversational and written Russian. The campers will be divided into several groups according to their level of Russian language. Activities will include reading stories and discussing them, conversational games, as well as creating their own group stories and poems.

Mini Theater
Basic acting techniques are introduced through monologues, scenes, and improvisations.
The kids are taught to perform the songs and poems in a fun and creative manner. Each session will be crowned by a unique musical performed by all program participants.

Traditional Crafts
The campers will create various clay figures in the Russian tradition. All masterpieces will be glazed and fired in the kiln.

Painting
The children will be introduced to landscape, still life, and fantasy in painting.
They will learn about watercolors, pastel, and acrylic. All students will have an opportunity to decorate traditional wooden pieces – spoons, bears, matroshkas, and jewel boxes.

Outdoor activities
Daily outdoor activities will include both team sports and competitive games.

Hiking
There will be a supervised hike during each session. We will have a "Flag" game and a picnic!

Swimming
We will have access to an outdoor pool one hour per day.
The campers will be divided into groups according to their comfort level in the water.
Each group of five kids will be supervised by a CPR and First Aid certified adult.

Publishing the camp’s newspaper
The campers will have an opportunity to be the journalists, editors, and publishers of their own daily newspaper, which will chronicle their daily life and display their pictures and artworks.

Metaphor’s Fair
Successful performance in day activities will be rewarded with unique Camp currency
"Metaphorik". It can be exchanged for prizes and treats at the end of each day.

The deadline for submitting application forms is May, 15 2012.
